All surgeries are run on an appointment basis. We strongly believe in continuity of care and the idea of a family doctor, so we ask you always to see your own doctor except:
- in an emergency
- during doctor’s holidays (when a partner will be happy to help with urgent problems)
- for specific clinics
- if you wish to see a same gender doctor
- for a particular problem
To make an urgent or non-urgent appointment, please call in or phone the relevant surgery at the following times:
- Little Common: Call in or phone the surgery between 08:00 – 13:00 or 14:00 – 18:30.
- Old Town: Call in or phone the surgery from 08:00 – 13:00 or 14:00 -18:30.
We also offer an on-line booking facility for non-urgent appointments with your GP, please contact reception for details.
We now offer early morning appointments for working patients
It may not always be necessary to have a face-to-face consultation with the doctor therefore we offer telephone consultations for which the doctor/nurse will telephone you within an agreed timescale. To book a telephone consultation please telephone the surgery between 08:00 – 13:00 or 14:00 – 18:30.
If you have provided us with your mobile number and have given us your consent to receive text messages, we will automatically send you a text message appointment reminder. If you need to cancel your appointment, you can text back Cancel or call reception who will cancel your appointment and rebook it for you.
We understand that sometimes you may not be able to attend your appointment with us, and so we ask if you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

Please call after 2pm to enquire about your test results. Our reception team will have more time to deal with your request after this time. Please note that information will only be given to the person it relates to unless consent has been given to speak to another person on the patient's behalf.
It is your responsibility to contact the Practice for your test results, and to make an appointment if required to do so.
Thank you to all our patients who have cancelled their appointments. It is a big help in keeping waiting times down and means we can allocate those appointments to other patients.
However unfortunately, every month a large number of patients fail to attend their appointment resulting in wasted time for the clinicians and longer waiting times for the patients.
Last month in July 2021, 275 appointments were missed.
Please help us to help you by cancelling your appointment if it is no longer needed or you cannot make it.
